Halifax is the capital of the province of Nova Scotia and the major cultural centre of Canada’s four Atlantic provinces. Halifax is home to six universities, two colleges, and a branch campus of another university.

The conference will be in the Studley campus in the South end of Halifax, near the downtown. Attendees can easily walk to the Public Gardens, shopping, campus gymnasium, etc. Point Pleasant Park, the Atlantic Ocean, etc. are nearby too.

Halifax and Nova Scotia are especially beautiful in the summer, and there are many cultural and nature-based activities to partake in all year round. The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo will end a few days before the conference starts. The average daily temperature in July has been about 19C ranging from 14C to 23C with an average rainfall of 12mm per day with over seven-and-a-half hours of sunshine per day.

The Destination Halifax website has many photos and textual information about Halifax.
